My name is Steve Broder, founder of ‘AquaSkills Swim School’.
My experience in swimming teaching really started when, lik
e every parent, I wanted my own 4 children to learn. A combination of swimming lessons and many enjoyable outings to our local pool we managed to get them started. To ensure that I was helping them correctly, I became an ASA Qualified Teacher. My children progressed quite rapidly and moved into competitive swimming. I followed them into this pursuit, achieved Coaching and ASA Official status and coached them and many other swimmers for 10 years. Since then, I have continued with teaching for 2 large Local Authorities, supplying both public and school lessons.
We are now a small, family run Swim School with a wealth of experience ranging from the non-swimmer through to ‘Ready for Competition’. We offer small group classes from 3.5 years upwards to adult. This enables us to give each person some individual attention. Our teachers are in the water with non-swimmers and early beginners as this tends to boost confidence and accelerate the learning process. However, if required we can also offer a total individual solution on a 1-2-1 basis.
Our teaching programme is structured in accordance with the current ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming. Each term we work towards an award level, but our main priority is very much on Good Stroke Development. We are also an Affiliated ASA Swim School Member which means that we are constantly updated with the latest developments in teaching swimming.
Please feel free to look around our website and contact us if we can be of any assistance to you.
